It's still bad and violence should be used only as a last resort. When your first reaction is to tell people, who are expressing opinions, to shutup, you are on the way to using violence for all the wrong reasons.

Of course covid is bad. It can kill you. However, that doesn't give the state the right to tell me what to do. The state isn't God or our parents. I have the right to decide how I want to protect myself from Covid or anything else. It's been a long time since my mommy told me to get out of that tree. That's because I'm an adult, now. The state is NOT my mommy.

We need authoritarianism so I can get my way. As long as I get my way, it's not really authoritarianism, is it? Tyranny only exists when it threatens MY liberty. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger said "Efff YOUR freedoms." He didn't say "Eff MY freedoms". There's a subtle but important nuance, here.

@magmat0585 Because that only implies anger and people will see him as some kind of lunatic. This guy was showing despair and desperation and the average person can identify with that. The average person can't identify with a killer.

@saltycat662 No.....I don't know whether he's sane or not. Neither do you. Martyrs have been painted as heros for thousands of years. It's the same as the guy in Tunisia that Tim was talking about. His act, whether he was insane or not, inspired the people of Tunisia to revolt. The Australian government will do well to take heed of the desperation of its citizens.
