adamshattuck1985 There's difference in studying the Bible as academic study then as a theological truth that pertains to certain specific faiths. You can't go to a public university that teaches Catholicism as the true faith so that one can go on to become a priest. For that you have to go to a private Catholic University. That holds true for any branch of any religion. Public universities study religion and its influence on history and society and is a generic discipline.

Gender studies is a branch of human sociology that has succumbed to a Marxist type of ideology which pits one group against another in a predator/victim field of thought. It is akin to the study of economics in which communism would be a branch of that field that is studied, not as economic thought, but as THE only true and viable economic solution. Had gender studies remained a discipline that is interwoven with other social studies and remained open to critical thought, we wouldn't be in this mess in our universities right now.
