@Cool_Calm_Cam You're twisting things to suit yourself. Black Panthers were patrolling neighbourhoods, in groups, intimidating anyone that might be in opposition to them, including the police. Reagan saw no reason for people carrying loaded weapons in public. That's not "strict" gun control. He wasn't advocating taking guns away from ordinary citizens. He was against the types of actions that the Black Panthers were doing. It would appear that Antifa might be following in the same pattern. That might be interpreted as an insurgence against the laws of the country and the citizens of the US.

You don't know what the solution is Tim? How about encouraging people to get behind the government policing units. That doesn't mean that we don't recognise that there are bad police officers or that there might develop a police culture that is counter productive to good public policing. It means that we solve the issues as they arrive in policing and support them as they are representative of the government who are representative of us....the people of our nation. Either we're a nation of law or we're not. That would include the police but it also includes those, especially those who might not agree with our way of life and wish to change things through violence. Anyone who believes that any group or agency is going to be perfect is a Utopian fool. The best we have is to recognise this tendency for human error and create safe guards against them. What we don't do is go against the only method that we've devised that would maintain a safe and civilised society.
