"I'm not a doctor" Do you mean the same doctors that prescribed oxycontins and started the current opioid crisis? Those doctors? I would hope not.

@brkbtjunkie I would agree. My point being that being an expert doesn't always mean that you will make the right decision. It helps to know more but it isn't the magic bullet to stop stupidity. Knowledge has to be tempered with common sense to be effective.

A better example from those times would be the sudden rise of Satanic child abuse allegations in pre-schools. Investigators would ask small children leading questions and the children would give answer that they thought the investigators wanted to hear. Then the arrests would start. It was the Salem witch trials, all over again. They're doing the same thing today with the transitioning hysteria. The child, conditioned to giving "correct" answers, gives the answers that he/she believes are correct.

@ricmar70 The one thing this article didn't do was distinguish between children and adults. It also never once referenced the claims that suicide are extremely high among those who have transitioned and the rates of regret. Could the things not mentioned have an impact on wait times? That was never discussed. Also, talking to the "experts", at transitioning clinics, who may have financial interests in getting increased funding, could be seen as ideologically self serving. A rather unbalanced article.
