You should care about books taken out of print for ideological reasons, Tim. That's called censorship. If it's taken out of print for lack of sales, that's one thing but to do so because you've decided that there's some kind of message that shouldn't be conveyed, you're taking part in and shrugging off a metaphorical book burning. It's not about how many books or people are censored. It's about taking away individual freedoms. If the forced demolition of one person's freedom to expression through even one piece of art, you tacitly approve of it all. You'd stand by and watch the Nazis burn books down the road because....who cares. A blizzard starts with a single snowflake. If you don't want censorship to take hold, don't allow that metaphorical snowflake to exist.
