Americans live in a Constitutional Republic that uses a democratic process to govern the country and yet is limited to the provisions set in the Constitution. So it is both, but a Constitutional Republic first.

@ridervillian Yes it is. However, those elected representatives can only act within the guidelines of the Constitution. Any action, law, initiative or what have you, must be legal within the Constitution. If it contravenes and article within the Constitution, it can and will be found to be illegal in court proceedings. That's why it's a Democratic Constitutional Republic. It is a Republic first and we use the Democratic process to maintain the everyday decisions that is needed to run the country.

@mosipd I think it runs deeper than that. The educational system has been largely taken over by cultural Marxists and post modernists. For them, having a Constitution is a roadblock to taking power. The Constitution provides for free speech. They don't like free speech. It allows for a free and open press. They don't like a free press. They want to control the narratives and it shows with a media that is also taken over by those same cultural Marxists and post modernists. They now have this control over the media and the educational system and they're making a play to take over the Democrat party. If they are successful and win an election, you'll see the Constitution torn to shreds. They don't want the students to understand how important the Constitution actually is.

@philip trevor What the heck does that have to do with MSM making up stuff to get viewers and ratings. Trump isn't telling them to do that. He's just one of many that is pointing it out.....kinda like what Tim Pool is doing right now. He's informing us on how MSM is promoting inaccurate news stories and won't take any responsibility for it. It's as if you didn't even watch this video. Why wouldn't you call out CNN for distorting the facts around those women getting probation? That's what this video is about. It's not about what Trump thinks of the media, at all. It's about what the media is doing and why more and more people are losing faith in a media that is overtly biased and self serving. When I was a kid, they gave you the news as facts. Each network and news outlet would tell you what happened without putting a spin on it to serve their own point of view. They gave you the facts and we made of those facts what we could. You'd rather have media spin than take an objective look at the issue because you're terrified you may end up agreeing with Trump.

@fenrisvermundr2516 How can a democracy give power to the minority? It's basically a popularity contest and the ones with the MOST votes gets to govern. That doesn't make sense. What gives a democracy the possibility of going wrong is the fact that a majority can become corrupt or take up ideas that are culturally driven. That's why the Constitution is so important. You can challenge a majority if the majority impose laws or policies that go against the Constitution. Laws have been stricken just because of those Constitutional challenges. It's also why there are checks and balances in the American system. It isn't perfect but it's the best yet devised.

@fenrisvermundr2516 You're jumping to the extreme. People vote for their candidates for a variety of reasons. Sometimes for good reasons and sometimes for really stupid ones. There have been lots of good people that have made the government. That has to be true. If it wasn't, we, the people of the west, would all be living in 3rd world countries, sick, starving and living in the streets.

Jaqen H'ghar The media doesn't have to relay that information on to the public as news, do they? Unless the point that you're trying to make is that the media is just a branch of the CIA. If you believe that to be true, you should try to get the evidence that makes that link between the 2 groups. Having it make sense isn't good enough.
