  1. Maybe those students are trying to mask that the word "folks" is an English translation of the German word "volks" and that the Nazis were very outspoken about the idea of "Volksgemeinschaft". From the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Radical socialist don't want to be associate with the Nazis even though they tend to believe in the same racially charged ideals. Whoopi Goldberg tried to do the same thing when she said the Holocaust wasn't about race. Of course, she'd say that. The ideology of The View is all about race and she supports it. She's trying to separate the race ideology of the Nazis and her own racially charged beliefs. Word manipulation has always been a major tool in the radical socialist armoury. It's how they control thought.
