@stuwest3653 She didn't work for that non-profit organisation. She was only on their advisory committee and helped them in their organisational efforts. Sounds like work to me. She told Grassley that she didn't work for them. I remember working at the food bank. I didn't get paid for it as it's a charity but I remember slugging more boxes and bags there than I did at my paying job. Well, I better get back to work mowing my lawn. I'm not getting paid for it but it sure seems like work.

@stuwest3653 So, interns don't work? They're just fooling around? I'd say that "representing" this organisation shows a greater commitment to their cause than merely collecting a paycheck. Who would "represent" a charity that they didn't believe in? You might take a paycheck from an organisation that you didn't believe in because you need money to buy food and pay rent but you're not going to give up valuable time, for no compensation, for something that you don't believe in. I think that you're engaging in semantics, just like this woman was. She could have been forthcoming, had she any integrity, and told Grassley of her relationship with that organisation but she omitted it intentionally. She was being dishonest because she was afraid that her involvement might reflect badly on her.

@stuwest3653 Integrity revolves around being honest, not disingenuous. She knew why she was being asked this question and she dodged it and she had a reason for her lack of candour. You're using word games to excuse her lack of true honesty. It's everything that's wrong with politics and, apparently, the legal system. It's a rationalisation for being insincere.
