"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." His disciples then asked who then can be saved. Jesus answered that it would be impossible for this man but with God anything is possible. This is one of the most misused passages in the Bible. No one ever completes it and the lesson that was trying to be taught needs the entire context.

@moh-ss7zc I don't know who you're talking to, so I'm going to assume that you were referring to the original comment. Why this is relevant baffles me. He was recounting an historical event and he was censored. That's an horrific abuse of power and an attempt to erase history. It has nothing to do with homophobia, cis or any other label that you just trotted out. If you were referring to something else....I will stand corrected if you explain what you were referring to.

@RiddeL87 Who's cherry picking? I just related the entire story as was written in the Bible. AOC was cherry picking. She took out a segment of the story and they proceeded to make it sound as if Jesus said being rich was somehow wrong. When you complete the story, that conclusion doesn't match the entire narrative. It's like any other story. To get the entire gist of an idea, you have to be aware of context and the entire narrative must be considered, not just the "cherry picked" part.....like AOC did.

@RiddeL87 AOC cherry picked a segment of a story to fit her narrative, pretending that the Bible matched that narrative. I gave the full story, which showed that the story did NOT match her narrative, at all. She brought it up. All I did was point out the fallacy in what she said. I offered no narrative of my own. I only said that she didn't quote the entire story. It's like the Jussie Smollett story. If you only considered the initial news reports, you'll believe that he was beaten by a couple of MAGA wearing bigots. However, subsequent news reports reveal a completely different narrative. That's what AOC did. It would be no different than saying that MAGA wearing bigots beat Jussie and that's the end of the story, when it isn't. I took nothing out of context. In fact, I put her segment into context.

@RiddeL87 Religions can't cherry pick. People do. Religions do not form themselves. People form them and for a religion to survive, according to you, PEOPLE have to cherry pick what it is they want to believe. People are the reason that religions survive and, once again, by their cherry picking what to believe. AOC is doing EXACTLY what you're criticising. How can you criticise people for cherry picking religions and then say I can't criticise AOC for cherry picking....unless you believe that the Bible thinks and cherry picks itself, which is illogical.
1
@RiddeL87 Then you agree with me. AOC should be criticised for cherry picking. I'm glad we cleared that up.

@RiddeL87 "The cherrypicking is used by everyone who wants to appeal to religious people," YOU wrote that. AOC cherry picks, from the Bible, to appeal to religious people......and you can't see how she's doing exactly what you were talking about. The lack of logic is astounding.
