@el1tubito I don't need to understand all the workings of my car in order to know how to start it. Put the key into the ignition, turn it and away it goes. It might be of benefit to know but it's not an imperative. Am I right or am I right? I like the Yogi Berra quote that YYY-GUY just gave. "It's Ok if you're not smart enough to understand the truth, just don't be stupid enough to believe the lies." We're just not capable of knowing everything. We have to understand that and adjust so we will know when something is BS or not.

@curtissharris8914 "Thinking critically and being able to entertain alternative viewpoints" That's what smart people do. Stupid people don't question the narrative. Smart isn't about what you know and stupid isn't about what you don't know. It's about thinking critically and being able to entertain alternative viewpoints. It's a behavioural trait. If you think over an issue in a critical manner and you still don't understand it....say so. Don't just fall for it because some alleged smart person said so. That would make you susceptible to lies and THAT would be stupid.

@curtissharris8914 " I feel like you made my point." Of course you do. I was just elaborating on the point that you made. Adding detail, so to speak, except I don't find the use of those words polarising. Smart people use critical thinking. Stupid people don't. Smart people are filled with facts. They understand how to gather facts and use them and are flexible in how they think. If I use another word besides stupid, I'm still saying the same thing. I'm just trading in one negative word for another one.

I like it and just used that quote in a later comment.
