  1. When Simon's mentioning some of the experts who have a good take on Ukraine and are on our side but fall over flat on Crimea, Mark Galleotti comes straight to mind on that one. I like Mark, great guy, but unfortunately he thinks Crimea is some kind of red line. Simon put's it well as a counter "has India always been British", Crimea was part of Ukraine as long as the USSR existed almost. There's some kind of perception problem on Crimea in that sense. Maj Gen Ben Hodges puts it in perspective well, when Crimea gets bombed how come the Russians all run away instead of going to the recruitment office to sign up and defend it , if it's so dear to their hearts historically ?
