Buzzwords can ve really annoying when over-used and "escalation" is right up there in that respect. I'd bet all my savings that not one of the people of journoas saying that every other day now about us wanting the material to defend ourselves to match Russia, would have ever used the word "escalation/escalate" in their life before last year. In what context would they hasve used that word "I was accosted on the street by a drunk and decided not to say anything back becasue I didn't want to escalate!!", lol They've never used that word in theior life and now they repate it several times a week. It's like when a young kid learns a new big word and has to say it all the time, just to impress. These journaos are no different in mentality.
