  1. Interesting story you tell of your time in Moscow having a beer on top of a cooling tower, my first thought was, thank God you didn't get Legionnaires disease. There's a good chance that old Soviet air-conditioning system was full of legionella bacteria! Anyway you hit the nail on the head that many pundits miss, at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union, everyone thought, "Great, we defeated communism, problem solved!" (WRONG). Soviet Communism was only an iteration or evolution (in the form of the Soviet Empire) of the real problem - Russian Imperialism.
