  1. At 22:40 Mariia says that regarding Crimea, there is the military and political talk and the political talk centres around "Crimea is a red line" - Mark Galeotti peddles that Kremlin. BS verbatim, it's my biggest beef with him. Owen Mathews is even worse, he peddles the Kremlin "Ukraine will be partitioned" talking points verbatim also! There's a huge problem of Russo-centrism in Western academia going back decades and the aforementioned are archetypes of this way of cognitive dissonance, shall we say. It's about time Russian academia was "de-colonised" of these types of people and ways of thinking. They're insidious and slip in Kremlin nonsense because of their very educated sophisticated gentlemanly veneer. But in the end Mark just wants to get off the ban list so he can go back to visiting Russia (he admitted that on his "In Moscow's Shadows" podcast) and Owen Mathews has more concern for the colonists, no surprises there, his ancestors were Boyars in the Kharkiv region during the Russian Empire. Mariia is spot on about Crimea, we don't need to invade over that narrow isthmus, just make it "untenable" & take out the bridge, as Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges has been saying for 2 years!
