  1. I hope you are right about Pokrovsk Jake, When I first moved to Ukraine a decade ago in 2014, my wife had a flat at Makiivka, now in the co-called DNR. She lost that flat in 2015 so I bought a flat in Pokrovsk to replace it. I consider Pokrovsk to be my home town. Before the re-invasion in 2022 the front was 50km away, now f course it's half that distance. It's too dangerous to live in Pokrovsk so my wife and I are IDP's in West Ukraine. I get the feeling that the ruZzian's will be in Pokrovsk by the end of this year. 😥 Just as an FYI "Pokrov" from which the town gets its name means "the protection of the mother of God", let's hope Mother Mary protects Pokrovsk. It used to be called "Krasnoarmi'isk" which means "Red Army Town" - it weas renamed in 2015 as part of the de-Sovietisation process here.
