Wonder if people who think that he deserves imprisonment for publishing embarrassing material gotten from whistleblowers knows what Journalism is. The key issue here is that Assange and Wikileaks stopped being Journalists and started their career as partisan hacks, meddling into politics, thinking in their naivete that the world's biggest fraud and narcissist would have their back once they helped him into office..

@luigi5890 Seriously? That's the weakest argument in defense of keeping war crimes hidden.. That's the nature of Journalism! To get as much information from the whistleblower as possible. I would have done the exact same thing. So if you want to be principled about who to punish for what crimes, how about charging and carrying out sentencing of the war criminals first? But at least you have proven that the 1st Amendment means as much to you as a treaty with any native American tribe your ancestors betrayed.

@AndiDuck For all intents and purposes, anyone who thinks that he deserves to be punished for publishing American war crimes do not deserve to call themselves supporters of Journalism. Journalism does not have allegiances to any flags or government. What sold Assange out was when he waited until AFTER the scam called the DNC primary. If Wikileaks were to be consistent, they would not have waited to give out the information that proved Hillary Clinton, DCCC and DNCs election tampering against Bernie Sanders until AFTER Hillary Clinton was handed the candidacy- As much as you have made sense in previous comments, this assertion of yours is a complete miss to the target all together. But I'm sure that Wikileaks planned for Snowden to have his passport seized by USA once he was in Moscow, and made it impossible for him to travel on as planned. And if you think that Snowden, Manning, and Wikileaks are the enemies here, you will look like a stooge for American war criminals, and other criminal elements who spies on you and everyone. @luigi5890 Those laws has been eroding since Day 1, when the founding fathers excluded natives, Africans, Mexicans, Chinese, and women from the definition of "all men are created equal"... But since you mention it.. I just loved those "free speech" zones under Bush jr, where any dissenting voiced were caged in and practically tagged by DHS because president Chimp thought that anywhere he went was supposed to be a safe space for himself and his war profiteering stooges..

As far as Assange choosing to wait to release any damaging information about Hillary Clinton and the corrupt ways of DNC weeks ahead of the Democratic Convention and play risky politics over Journalism is when I started asking questions about his motivation for going over to the Dark Side.. @Luigi As far as what can be done? I'm sure there are people out there crazy enough to fill his spot as chief leaker.. And keep voting in people like AOC and Ilhan Omar to drive DCCC and GOP nuts..
