  3. Autogenocide is the mass murder of a country's citizens by its own ethnic group against its' own ethnic group. Auto comes from the Greek reflexive pronoun while genocide comes from Greek genos meaning "race, tribe" and the Latin word -cidere meaning "kill". http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/7302 The only way they could expand their territory was to replace the original population.
