  1. Bob Lyon Alaska is a diverse state. Doesn't have liberals nor conservatives exclusively. Liberal Mike Gravel represented Alaska when he singlehandedly stopped Nixon to extend the Draft in 1971.

  2. Atomicpenguin So you think that conservative drunks should have the right to dictate what grown ups can put in their bodies? So much for "small government". But then again, I've always known that conservatives have been about "Big Government" and protecting the interests of the rich.  And no. Weed is not a gateway drug to anything. Conservatism however, is a dangerous mindset what keeps humanity from progress And draconian drug laws are not progressive.  And liberal presidents Washington and Jefferson were huge potheads. They didn't like tobacco. But they loved their weed.

  3. Atomicpenguin Thomas Jefferson and George Washington was all liberals of their time. Conservatives stood by the king. A peoples republic in those times were considered radical leftists, while your side, the plantation owners were on the side of royalty. And it seems that conservatives still have the hots for everything opposite of what George Washington and Jefferson stood for.

  4. Atomicpenguin Where have you been brainwashed to believe that your constitution was founded on conservative principles at the time? Do you even know what conservatism means, and who was conservatives at the time? They were the same as your conservatives today: religious, nationalistic, authoritarian,  and against personal freedom, and profit from the labor of others. Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, Franklin were all radical liberals as it gets at the time. Washington wrote about his liberal values, not his conservative values. Jefferson did n0ot like the capitalist mooches on Wall Street. He had the same distrust for bankers as teabaggers loved Wall Street when OWS was active. Jefferson would not have been a Sarah Palin style teabagger. He would have been a radical OWS member.  So no republican today have any right to lay claim of any of the founding fathers, except the only thing you have in common with them;: Conservatives today have a few things in common with the conservatives who supported mad king George: Wage slavery, and Christian tyranny.
