  1. Ace Goku He who disbelieves in Allah after his having believed, not he who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but he who opens (his) breast to disbelief-- on these is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement. — Quran 16:106 llah's Apostle said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." — Sahih al-Bukhari, 9:83:17 Make ye no excuses: ye have rejected Faith after ye had accepted it. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others among you, for that they are in sin. — Quran 9:66 Sort of goes against the internal freedom of thought and faith, doesn't it? I mean, as soon as you start questioning the whole mythology of the revealed religion, according to many scholars, that is a greater sin than never to adhere to Islam. Why is that? Is Islam such a deck of cards that one single dissent threatens to tear down the whole house of Islam? Any deity who displays wrath and need humans to force and punish for other people's change of faith is a weak god. And does not deserve to be respected nor worshiped. That deity is less credible than a politician or a used car salesman. This practice is not exclusive to Islam. However, I don't think that Scientologists or Mormons have actively gone to steps to kill the people who have "gone astray".  Mormons do have a history of genocide though - against "savage" Native Americans in Utah. Scientologists are using some pretty nasty tactics however towards the people who do leave. Scientologists tries to destroy you in different ways.  "The bible and the Q'uran are the sources of all morals until they inconvenience us". All Christians and Muslims

  4. Ace Goku Ah! Brilliant! You got my joke. Which is basically true. I cannot remember the Moors destroying Iberia the same way as ISIS is destroying historical artifacts right in the middle of the Islamic world.  The notion of Buddha statues as a threat to Islam came recently when illiterate fundies came to such conclusion in 2000/01 in Afghanistan, acted upon it, and blew them up. As a man who's explored Buddhism, I've been through my childhood Christianity.  The Johnny Black version: Standing up for the downtrodden. I've been into Judaism, and read the Kabbalah, or at least chunks of it. I've done some studies of Parapsychology, and the ideas of reincarnation. The only teacher I've ever had an ounce of respect for was a high school teacher of mine, who taught us world religions, and writing. I contribute my own path to writing to him. He is a Muslim. An Ahmadiyya Muslim. Not considered by Sunnis to be legit. The Sunnis are breaking the Hadiths and Surahs of religious freedom, and personal autonomy.   I don't see any value in dead things and statues, but these were wonders of a long forgotten time when Buddhism was the main religion of Afghanistan and Islam were not even invented. In fact, those statues are a legacy over our humanity that fanatics wanted to destroy in the name of their Arabian desert god. Doesn't Taliban mean "student"? Wonder if the curriculum included destroying other cultures because Allah..,, This is the way with fundies. Can't take jokes, always looking for enemies, and threats, and expects respect when they show none. I'm sure even the dead desert dweller Mohammed is rolling over in his grave over the atrocities done in his name. Never mind that taking his entire mythology straight from a Hebrew tribal god who promoted slavery and genocide, he was no worse than any other leader at that time. In fact, he was progressive in many ways. But also completely deluded in other ways. But that's a question of faith vs. demand for proof. See. I have no personal stake in Islam vs. Judaism vs. Christianity. I grew up in a complete religious free home. Didn't have much to do with it until I learned of baby Jesus in 1st or 2nd grade. Compulsory to learn about religious myths before science. Kind of conflicting, don't you think? Specially when you learn that the universe was created in six days, and then you go to next class and watch Carl Sagan. But I've always liked religious myths and legends. So I'm not afraid to say what is bullshit and what has an ounce of value. Even the Q'uran have some pages and verses worth while. Even the Bible and the Torah as well. But the rest? Completely worthless as literature. And dangerous in the hands on people with power and take those fables a bit too seriously and act upon them,  But this is what is so dangerous about revealed religion. Atrocities were barbaric before. Now, all of a sudden, one could defend those atrocities based on some obscure event that took place 1400 years ago, and use that event as an eternal "Jihad" against all who dare to make funny drawings of them and their sky god. Same thing goes with Christianity. In the "Land of the Free", a kid got sentenced for "desecrating" a religious symbol. As if the religious symbol got offended by it. I think it's more the people who get offended on behalf of an inanimate object representing a bronze age myth.  It was only 33 years ago, ,Life of Brian was heavily censored in Norway, and banned several places in England. In fact, it was banned at the beginning in Norway as well. Precious religious feelings seems to trump the right to make satire of religions who's power rests entirely as a dependent on secular power to enforce their delusions on others. And now, it seems that there are people who want to wipe out the ink too. On personal experience from USA, I consider Christian fundamentalism and corporatism a greater threat to the American democracy than Islam. Though a few thousand thugs selling their extremism on a media created by the "Evil West" is laughable.  Let the locals deal with them, and bring Bush&Cheney for a war crimes tribunal in Hague.

  5. Ace Goku Ahmadiyyas believe in the continuance of revelations across the world. They don't believe in an End time, nor the return of Jesus like the Sunnis does (how can Muhammed be the last when Sunnis claim that Jesus will be reincarnated)? The mere ARROGANCE of the mu hammed cultists disgusts me. Don't you see your raving lunacy when you claim that only an Arabia desert dweller and illiterate as such be the last prophet, making this some sort of monopoly of how the creator of the billions of galaxies and stars on how we shall live our lives and worship this invisible man in the sky and his last prophet from ancient bible land? The 5 Pilars says "Muhammed is his prophet", not "Allah's LAST" prophet.  And why should your omnipotent god choose to communicate with only one war lord and trader? Like I have indicated, I see very little difference between Ahmadiyya and Sunni. However, Sunnis emphasizes that only Sunnis practice the right way, and Ahmdiyya are apostates.  The first link I gave you was written BY a Sunni, and his derogatory language reminded me of the same language used by insane Christians.   I consider them to be as different from each other as Catholicism and Protestantism. If they use the Q'uran, the Surahs and Hadiths, I don't see why you or anyone else should denounce them a s Muslims, labeling them "apostates" as what officials from Sunni does.  But I see now how you have gone at each others throats the last 1000 years, and why Sunnis commit mass murder in the name of Sunni because they think Ahmadiyya poses a threat to the House of Cards called Sunni Islam.  Moon god: The status Allah had in the polytheistic society of Mekka. Thought you knew that.  I am taking down all the myths that both Islam, Christianity and Judaism is built on.

  8. Ace Goku I have heard the "out of context" argument. Don't use it against me.. I think you should ad some substance to what is missing in this context.  It's kind of hard taking things out of context in this case,  isn't it? It's as if I went to a Pentecostal sect, got baptized "sincerely", and then come to my senses later, rethinking my submission, and then being threatened to be killed if I left the sect. It's as there is only one way out of Islam:: by death. So please use the "out of context" line against the people who are actullay taking this very seriously.  I'm not the one practicing death penalty for apostasy.  Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia does.  These are in fact the same verses that the Atheist Muslims in the GE would use to point out the contradictions in the book they criticize.  And I still consider Ahmdiyya to be the purest and most pacifist form of practicing Islam.  Them, and Sufists. I didn't mention ISIS in this context, since I don't want to legitimize them in any way shape or form. I can criticize Islam without the aide of a few murderous thugs who don't know squat about what they claim to fight for.   Mormons was shunned by other Christians.  No wonder, since their founder and leader was a convicted scam artist with the taste for women. But that didn't stop them from committing genocide in the name of their Elohim. Come to think of it,  seems like Mormonism and Islam have something in common: Both have prophets who claimed divine authority for their acts and dogmas. Christianity, and Scientology have the same setup. So you want to start your own religion? Create your own scripture. Every religion needs its holy book, It's easy to create one. ... Create or affirm your own rituals. ... Realize that in religion, nothing is just something. ... Remember, you are the founder, the prophet of your own religion, but not its God. ... There's nothing wrong with borrowing. ... Happy Birthday!

  9. Ace Goku Compare to what Ahmdiyya actually practice with how the Saudis practice theirs.  It's like comparing Franciscans with the Spanish inquisition. I was using sharp language to prove a point. Bickering over irrelevancies and details are what destroys your faith from within. Scholars shouldn't have any right to monopolize definitions as long as people learn how to read,  get educated and think for themselves. Because clerics and scholars have proven to have personal agendas. But that still doesn't change the words that was written.  What I'm saying is that neither Saudi Arabia, nor many other countries do not have freedom of religion despite explicit statements from the chief himself, and the contradiction where he is against the freedom of thought regarding apostasy. I had this discussion with another Sunni a few years ago, and he claimed that apostasy somehow threatened the stability of society. As if changing ones personal beliefs  poses a threat to the established dogmas. If those dogmas needs such language and severe consequences for such change of heart, what does it matter whether this sky god should be worshiped at all? The mere discussion between scholars on whether apostasy should be punishable at all is ridiculous in the first place. And only proves that proves that the entire god dogma lives in a house of cards, and doesn't stand someone breathing on it.  And no. The universe was not created for us.  We are NOT the center of attention of some universal creator with a personal list over sins we might have done in life, determining our judgement in the afterlife.

  10. Ace Goku Do you get your authority from here passing judgement on whether Ahmdiyya is legit or not? http://islamqa.info/en/4060 Do Ahmadiyya members regard the 5 Pilars? Do they use the Q'uran as their holy book? http://aaiil.org/text/questionsanswersislamahmadiyya/differenceahmadimuslim.shtml From what I read, the Sunnis believe in the 2nd coming of the prophet Jesus, while Ahmdiyya does not. Ahmad is a credible as a prophet as any Mohammed. This claim "I am the last messenger of a moon god created by Jews, Christians and Muslims, and all other claims are to be considered to be impostors" just proves the mere arrogance of revealed religions.  It's like claiming a patent on epiphanies, denying others the same, accusing them of being liars and scam artists.  Joseph Smith had some of the same arrogance.  I'm a Buddhist. At least by philosophy and not as much by intense practice. i hardly ever meditate anymore. But I also hardly drink anymore either.  And I definitely do NOT worship a dead statue.   However,  enlightenment can happen to anyone. Not just the revelations from self proclaimed messengers from man made gods. That is what Buddhism is about.  Islam is about submitting to a set of dogmas that seem confusing to even the best of us.  I am still waiting for your context in which your god needs someone to kill them in his name due to apostasy. Is there any excuse or rationale behind this? Don't you agree that these lines are dangerous when taken literally and contradictory to other Surahs?
