So how has that trickle down Reaganomics worked out for ya? Lot of trickle down capitalism dripping on you from the benign capitalist priests? One more question.   7. Tl2aV We have social democracy in Norway. A constitutional monarchy where the constitution was inspired by the American one. We have a multi party parliamentary system. We have capitalism, our own stock market, as well as public healthcare, public schools and subsidized higher education. This means no one goes broke if they get sick, or want a higher education We have a free press who hammers on the government when they screw up. And these papers even have tax exempt status, and funded by government. It's to assure that we have a wide variety of newspapers from different angles. None of them very "loyal" to whomever rules at the time. If any, its's more partisan loyalty. No one goes to prison if they say that the royal family or our fat goose of a prime minister sucks. Oh. And we have a public oil fund. Which is close to a trillion dollars these days. If we followed your system, that money would be in the hands of a few oil tycoons, and we would have no public healthcare, and 50 000 dollar a year to private colleges. Now how on earth do you think we a "socialist hellhole" manage to combine those things?

  8. Donald Edward Our people have been swallowing up the garbage from GOP. We have now an unholy alliance between Capitalists, RW nationalists, and the Christian populists. And when people have now seen what they are trying to do, people will soon get rid of them. The one party is the "Progressive Party" who had terrorist Breivik in their midst at one point. They are NOT progressive. They are like GOP -regressive. Seeking to reward millionaire heirs, and blame immigrants for all the ills, and punish the poor, the unemployed, and seek to detail run people's lives whom are without a job. Just like GOP. Well, in a bit weaker variation off course. But they will be out of office in two years. And they will not have been able to do much more damage by then - hopefully. Perhaps I should have waited to use the term "social democracy" to the end so he would at least read the rest first.

  9. Donald Edward I am not that familiar with the party lines in Canada. Gotta look a bit closer in on which ones that are the loonies there. The latest I have read and watched from Canada was an old rape / suicide case near Halifax if I'm not mistaking. It was heartbreaking. And the almost deliberate callous behavior from all officials. I guess disgusting things happen everywhere. Now I want to know who these people are. Oh! If I'm ever going to Canada, it will be for Vancouver. Not just for the "BC Bud", but for the mountains. The city reminds me of a giant version of my own birth town - Bergen. I was in Ireland when the shit happened. So I was far away, looking for a way to get home.  I've been abroad for most of the last 11 years, and I'm still trying to fit in while taking advantage of our "excellent" but slow healthcare to take care of a bad stomach and my teeth fixed. My next journey will not be as a cheap sellout for a corporation where the "carrot" is relocation, and half of what I make back here. Next journey will be a long, and long lasting one on my own terms. We're still explorers up here. At least some of us.
