  2.  @charlesfarmer3089  You have my empathy. Seriously. As a Norwegian citizen who has lived, worked, or gone to school in 7 countries since the age of 17, including USA, you might say that USA has "special interest" in my focus on world news. I can clearly see how propaganda and fake news has influenced your sense of reality You are a right that USA influences other countries. Sometime positively, and sometimes negatively. However, what the protesters are demonstrating against is one thing.. what you think they protest against is another. You can't afford health insurance. Yet you think that the Parisians wants what you have. Affordable healthcare run by private interests because you think that the government you elected is crooked. Well, in this case, the government you chose on behalf of others IS crooked. Yet you think you are free to choose whatever doctor you want, and think you can afford an operation right off the bat. You think you are free when private industry runs the show. As if you have any influence over their policies. You are dependant on whatever "service" ER can give you. Which is either government run, or over priced. You will be someone else's expense no matter how you put it. You are just one injury, or one illness away from bankruptcy. Both UK, France, Scandinavia, Germany.. All NATO allies, as well as Russia has one form of "government run healthcare"...Which means that private insurance companies don't have access to defraud you, or deny you coverage when you need it. But you don't want that obviously. You obviously want to be scammed by an unregulated business who can charge you whatever they want for whatever drugs they push on you, as your private doctor can claim your house if you can't afford to pay your doctor's bill. Because you think that the government you are supposed to have influence over is more corrupt.

  3.  @charlesfarmer3089  If you want to die from lack of healthcare because you are deluded.. that's your choice. But you don't get to make that choice for others. If you are against public healthcare, are you against the healthcare that your army gets? Or how about that tax dollar subsidised healthcare your congressman gets? Check out Scandinavia and UK and argue where we go wrong where your private industry wants to play your death panels. Personally, I have found the UK system to be most convenient. You pay 5-10% of your wages to NIS and get covered by NHS even as migrant worker. Other taxes are lower though. So this tax is earmarked for whatever health issues one might have. This has benefited me personally as a former employee for a range of IT companies in both Ireland, and UK. Mostly UK, since their system is better than the Irish. What happens when you get sick in England and is covered by NHS? First, you don't pay the doctor a single dime in fee. If you need prescription drugs, NHS subsidises the cost of this like your government covers the oil, gas and banking industry. I never paid more than £6,50 for any prescription I needed. As a veteran with PTSD and are HSP, this has benefited me both in Belfast, NI and England. When I needed time off, my doctor would give me a doctor's notice which I gave my employer, and they would still pay me almost a full salary for the time I was gone. And when I returned to work, they gave me shorter working hours to readjust. As you can see, don't go broke due to expensive healthcare. We can pick and choose our own doctors. We are just as free, if not even more than you, because we don't have to worry about getting sick and lose our jobs because of it. However, I do have an issue with the company Norton Antivirus in Athens on that subject. I don't think you will find a single person in any of those countries aware of what your corporate "healthcare" systems provides wants to change their own with yours. Again, you have my sympathy for poor choices and lack of basic education in this subject. Cheap political tropes as "I don't want government to run my healthcare" as if that was ever a thing. What government does is COVER your healthcare. It doesn't meddle in whether you are worthy of treatment or not. If you need selective surgery, the only "bad thing", is that you might need to wait a little longer. And those who can afford it, can choose a private clinic with no waiting time, but a lot more expensive. Public healthcare has a basic rule that you don't have: "The worst are the first.. to get treatment".. And they don't charge you for it. So I can certainly understand why Donnie and you hate UK these days. They are all SOCIALISTS despite a conservative government trying to strip that away. Again.. my deepest sympathy for your lack of basic healthcare. As if you think you are free to choose whatever you want, but can't afford to pay for insurance. At least that would qualify you for Medicaid.
