  1. ***** Invading Iraq,  killing 500 000 people destroying their infrastructure to privatize it creates plenty of fertile soil for extremism. Gitmo. Phosphorus, Abu Ghraib,  drones, torture.... All tools to defend "Western Values"...Right? I think you should focus more on the terrorism committed by your own Americans within America rather then what happens in the Middle East.

  2. James Campbell-Laing Peaceful protests in 1916? England created their own terrorists through 400 years of monarchic terrorism and freeloading. I am not condoning bombings or shootings in civilian areas. (Some of those who got convicted for such bombings were wrongfully convicted) ¨ I lived in Belfast from 2004-07. I was engaged to a protestant woman who got shot at when she was 3 while playing in the street on the upper Shankill.  She grew up during The Troubles. And one of hundreds of traumatized kids who got sent to Scotland and away from the violence. Unfortunately, Catholic kids did not get the same treatment.  One of my hashish dealers is an ex. IRA hitman with lives on his conscious. I almost got into trouble when proclaiming loud and drunk in a pub in Ravenhill (with a Finnish friend of mine) that I considered Northern Ireland a part of Ireland, and not a part of the welfare queen of Buckingham. Every 12th July, there is "Marching Season". The Orange Order arranges marches all over the country, celebrating the mass slaughter of 1690, harasses Catholic kids on the school way, and starts massive riots in Ravenhill and Shankill.  I think I know something about "peaceful protests". Have you ever heard of UDA? UVF? UFF? All royalist terror organizations just like IRA and "RIRA". But you never hear of them in the news, do you?  Yet every year they incite violent riots. The rest of the year, they're either on the dole, are dealing with guns and drugs, and spends time attacking gypsies selling street magazines in their own housing. Very little to do with religion. Just thuggery disguised as nationalism sugar coated with religious affiliation. If for no other reason, my years in Belfast truly taught me Both Sides of the Story...

  5. Helen Jones The Irish are not very popular in England either. At least not where I lived - Poole/Bournemouth. A week before I was going to Ireland for 3rd time, some doorman at my local pub said he didn't like Irishmen. I told him to take it easy with his bigotry.

  9. When the Welfare Queen of Buckingham came to visit Dublin in 2011, the entire Dame street was shut down, and there was riots right outside Christchurch.. I had entertainment all day as I stayed at a travellers hostel right on that street. So the Irish are STILL no fans of the Brits.

  12. ***** The Irish fought with the same motivation as your insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq. They want the ilk of US troops out of their country. But keep focusing on their religious fanaticism, and ignore that fact that YOU are creating their fanaticism by dropping bombs on their heads.  If you have troops in their country, they have legitimate reason to use force to get you the hell out of there. So when will you elephants stop pretending you have some god given right to throw your weight around this world? I suggest you pack up your tents from the 250 army bases you have around the world, and start focusing on the problems caused by your own corrupt politicians who seem to want to install a Neo Feudalist society. THEN there will be less wars around the world.
