They didn't have a standing army. But they did have a WELL VREGUL*ATED MILITIA. Which is the same as an army. Point three: Since it was written in the 1700, they only hadn muskets to use. Point four: The Bill of Rights are open for change. In fact, Thomas Jefferson adveocated a change every generation. Because unlike you dimwits, he was a bit more far sighted than a bunch of mental ammosexuals who think that owning murder weapons is more important than getting an education and healthcare.

The 2nd Amendment was NOT the brainchild of Thomas Jefferson, but from slave owners who felt unsafe around the physicaly larger and stronger African slaves. White peiople couldn'æt hanlde fending for themselves on equal terms and needed guns to keep bigger and stronger men in place to produce their fortunes. Unless you are in a well regulated militia today, the only gun you should have would be a rifle. If you are not in the army, you have no right to own weapons of war. But you think that today are just the same as 200 years ago. And if you think you would be able to stand a chance against the Marines or the SEALs "defending yourself against tyranny", think again. Those marines and SEALs have been busy fighting wars across the planet the last 25 years. No fat slob of a RW gun nut would stand a chance against them even if he had an M16 (inwhich he has no clue about how to handle)... And as your RW government has signed away your 1st amendment rights (frede speech, and freedom of the press), the 4th amendment, you ignore it. The only thing you care about is the small part of the 2nd Amendment, thinking that both terrorists, Christian fantatics, and mentally ill gun nuts should be able to get a gun 24/7. Sorry. Which makes me come to the conclusoin that RW gun nuts and "pro-lifers" are mentally ill, or just as much terrorists as the Orlando shooter and the 9-11 attackers. Latest news was about a mother who shot and killed her 17 and 21 year old daughter. She was a RW gun "advocate",. And people like you want mental cases like her to be able to have guns all over the place. Because you think that owning a gun in 2016 is more important than healthcare, an education, and a decent waged job you can make a living off. Shows us the priorities of selfish ammosexuals who cares not for other people's right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness as long as you can have guns to masturbate to. There are 30 000 people who gets killed by guns in USA every year. Because you WANT IT!
