Suicide rates among TEENS are generally much higher than other groups. Reson being is stated in the link. I doubt that there are any higher risk for suicide in the military than other groups But no suicide has been caused be being transgender as longs as the person get the right hormone treatment. If being forced to conform to Christian conservative republican norms and many other factors determines whether a depression and suicide may occur. I am a veteran. I know how devastating a depression can be. I cannot imagine being transgender and having to face attitudes like the ones from conservative trolls who takes a piss on decency, respect and this so called freedom they claim to hold so dear.

Gender identity and sexual orientation does not lie in the genitals. Those lies in the brain. The only way you can place those things, like sexual thoughts or gender identiy crisis in your genitals is if you install your brain where your balls are. And that goes for anyone. Suicide among transgender teens have completely different factors. None of them caused by them being transgender or '"mentally ill'" alone. And what do you know of mental illness? What dp you think causes depressions among victims of daily bullying, harassment and exclusion during the teen years? Anyone being picked on increase the risk to get depressions and develop social anxiety later. It's how you treat people that makes their day OK or a living hell.
