  12. SuperThumpasaurus Despots are always conservative at heart. Do you think that Thomas Jefferson would support GOP today? The TPP? Cutting funding for schools, hospitals, VA to give that as tax cuts for the rich, and handouts to the oil industry? Do you think that Jefferson would support fracking? Illegal wars across the planet? The "Patriot Act"? Gitmo? Abu Ghraib? Slashing unions? Who's side do you think he would take during the OWS protests? The cops who beat the protesters and the bankers who stood, watching drinking champagne? Or do you think he would support OWS? Do you think he would support the republicans calling themselves "Tea Party Patriots", or do you think he would support OWS who wanted social justice, and criminal bankers be held accountable? Regarding economics and taxes, Jefferson was pre-Industrial by almost 100 years. He would never agree to the subjugation of the American farmer, the inhumane abuses of American labour by the trusts of yesterday or by today's impersonal corporate giants. Jefferson would be especially incensed by the development of an inherited aristocracy which he and so many other of the Founders railed against. That we are allowing inherited wealth to take over the government would be a real slap in the faces of those who risked so much and often times gave so much during the Revolution.  A revolution is always a radical move. And never done in the name of conservatism.  Conservatism is static, while liberalism is organic.  Ever heard the phrase "what is radical today, is tomorrows establishment, which is next weeks conservatism"? Seems that GOP are spokesmen for the privilege of inheritance while speaking of "self determination" and "bootstraps" when seeking to gut social programs that benefit the poor. Take away the little they have, criminalize them, and you WILL get another revolution on your hands.
