Tell it to the ancient Greeks, that elections have nothing to do in a republic. that republic and democracy are two opposites, or have nothing to do with each other. Tell it to someone who's actually studied political science. Tell it to the Iroquois who taught your founding fathers about the principles of a confederation with open elections and parliamentarian. You are now being laughed at. Neither do you seem to be interested in anything else than minority rule. And pushes for the same kind of 'tyranny that feudal lords and monarchs imposed. Republican don't want everybody to have a voice. Republicans only want the rich, white elite to have a voice. Or people with the "right" political opinion. Your propaganda channels obviously don'\t want informed voters either. So if you don't want elections., I gather you don't want to vote either, since you think that your oligarchs should take all decisions for you. Seems that you RWers want to imitate China what one party dictatorship is concerned. They don't have any democracy there either. Or North Korea. Or Somalia. In Somalia they have absolutely no public welfare. And no budget. Lots of guns, war lords and religious nutcases. You republicans would fit right in that environment.

A republic IS a democracy. A government run by the people for the people with laws. A government chosen through elections. I know you Republican hate free and open elections and seek a RW dictatorship. Or an oligarchy run by the rich elites.

Gerrymandering, voter suppression, dirty campaigns, legalized bribes and political witch hunts. A republic IS a democracy. It's the people's rule. In my country, Norway we have a constitutional monarch with a parliamentary system. With a constitution inspired by the American one. (Except for the religious part. There, Norway is still a country of Lutheran dominance)
