As a former exhange student from Norway to Kansas 33 years back, I grew up, crazy about Native Americans, their history and culture.
Read native American biographies from the school library which I did not find at home.
Turns out that my host family, an elderly couple in their early 60s betweeen Horton and Hiawatha (north east corner of Kansas, bordering Missouri and Nebraska), was not fans of me reading literature which modern day racist culture warriors would label "CRT". I started asking questions, you see. Pondering what native nation this farm land once belonded to.
They tried to ban me from reading about my passion from childhood.
I had to start hiding my forbidden "CRT" literature, while being stuffed with beef and beer and free access to their old porn magazine collection at any time.
Strange time.
Weird host family.¨
Shitty school culture.,¨
A modern day version of "American Gothic".
P.S, Never liked Custer.
I always sided with the Crazy Horse and Tatanka Yotanka who fought him.
