  53.  @enchantedrockview  no it's not strange at all, it seems like this is just how Portugal works. Other people are waiting up to two years for residency/ID. What can a lawyer do if the bureaucracy is just ridiculous? Maybe another European country like Spain would have been easier but a bit late now

  56.  @enchantedrockview  it's confusing, he's not technically a resident of Portugal, he has a temporary visa I guess. There's always a possibly his residency could be rejected. They allow you to move there while you wait and he was able to get a rental but personally that would make me nervous. My bf went through a similar thing here in Australia and had a temporary visa while waiting for permanent residency (which took years)
