  1. You seem to be doing well, David. Getting old is hard but it beats the alternative. My paternal grandma lingered in bed for a few years with a body that was in constant pain due to severe arthritis but her mind was still sharp. My maternal grandmother developed dementia. I used to think about which would be worse - to have my mind but also have a body that didn’t work or not have my mind. After my dad developed dementia, there was no doubt I’d rather have my mind.
