  6. Wow! What a clever little boy. I can’t imagine how hard this was on the parents. When my oldest son was four, he disappeared for about 1-2 hours. I was a complete basket case. Even after he was found, it still took me 1/2 an hour to stop crying. I can’t imagine two days!

  8. I think these scammers are catching on to the reverse image search and mining photos from social media that don’t match up on image search. Every time I get a notice on Instagram that a man that’s started following me, I run their photo through an image search. Only once have I pulled up the real person. But, I always block them anyway because I only use Instagram to follow friends and family. I actually caught a fake Go Fund Me once by using reverse image search so it’s still a useful tool.

  12.  @ninac4501  - I grew up in the valley but only experienced minor quakes. We moved away to Oregon about five months before the Sylmar quake. My oldest son moved down to stay with my brother in Chatsworth a few months before the Northridge quake. His best friend was also visiting at the time. They had just gotten home from a friends house and gotten into bed when the quake hit. I was a nervous wreck all day until my son was finally able to call and let us know everyone was OK.

  22. You have to be pretty desperate and gullible to give someone you barely know a pile of money. I get “Hi, please friend be” comments and PMs on a regular basis. I don’t respond and block them. Another scam is people replying to comments as if they are a famous person. You have to be pretty ignorant to fall for it. It seems to me that once he “borrowed”some money and didn’t pay her back, that should have been a huge clue.

People who are involved in these far-right, whack-a-doodle conspiracy groups shouldn’t be allowed to raise someone else’s kids (and maybe not even their own).
