  1. There is nothing more un-Christian than the prosperity gospel. Years ago, in the early days of this “teaching”, I was invited to attend a weekly home group. These groups were formed of church members and they would meet in each others’ homes every Wednesday. I didn’t attend this church. The area where I lived was fairly rural at the time and made up of farming and blue collars families. One week, the Pastor stopped by. I immediately noticed his expensive looking clothing and shoes. He started talking about “name it and claim it” and how it was how he got his Mercedes. Well, the Mercedes came from a church member and she was still making payments on it. The pastor convinced the members that they needed to build a new church. The church went deep in debt to build it. Not long after, the pastor cleaned out the churches bank account and disappeared. What a mess he left behind.
