@RenderingUser There is not a person alive who is familiar with the entire X11 API, and that is not being hyperbolic. It is literally over 50 million lines of code, filled with tons of legacy stuff that isn't even relevant anymore. Saying "just maintain xorg then" is like saying "just stop being poor", it is not some trivial task.

@RenderingUser Well, feel free to join the cause and help maintain X11 then. If you unable or unwilling to do so, then it seems odd to proclaim that others should do it at your behest. There are legitimate reasons that developers are moving towards Wayland and away from X11. There is no conspiracy against a project that has been pivotal to the Linux desktop, it is merely showing its age at this point, and becoming more and more difficult for anyone to maintain. If you have some silver-bullet solution beyond "I prefer X11 over Wayland", then I strongly encourage you to contribute, otherwise it all falls on dead ears. Sooner is better than later, as this problem has only been getting worse over the last decade. Coming in at the 11th hour is better than never at all, I look forward to seeing your solutions to these problems, and the continued success of X11.

@bobdouglass8010 Yeah, while it can feel clunky using a tiling WM for the first time, there is no going back once you get used to it. I have been using a tiler for ~4 years now, and recently was booted into Plasma, which used to be my preferred environment, and it feels just as clunky using it now as it did when I first switched to i3 years ago (though I am also using Hyprland now),
