  1. I gave it a try for a few weeks, really didn't see the appeal of it over Linux. The cons outweighed the pros IMHO, though I would use it before switching to Windows or Mac. More adoption and software support would be huge win, but this is the classic chicken/egg problem.

  2.  @rcdmrl  KVM/QEMU is not slower, it is bare-metal, simply allowing you to actually dual-boot, as in two systems booted simultaneously. The downside is you need a system with two graphics chips (e.g. integrated Intel and discrete NVIDIA GPU, etc), otherwise you have to "switch" them, which is not without problems. You can literally add an entry to your boot loader for the KVM installed OS, and boot it normally if you so wanted to, or boot an OS installed on another partition without shutting down Linux.
