@darkfx3208 I have watched multiple videos of Wolff spewing bullshit and lies. What are you a cultist? Look up “Richard Wolff is a Monster and Fraud” and watch the whole video then come back.
3
The inflation that happened in 2021 and on was from the government, not greedy corporations as Wolff tried to claim. It wasn’t Amazon cornering the market and jacking up prices. It was the Fed printing trillions of dollars in 2 years. Are you stupid?
3
Wolff is a lying hack who is full of it. He constantly makes up stories that aren’t based in fact or just outright lies to push his agenda.
3
You are not the arbiter of what pay is correct, too much or too little.
3
@jdg7327 you’re the one with no argument.
3
None. He is a liar and a hack.
3
Agreed. His lies and sophistry are already open for anyone to see.
3
@WanderingExistence capitalism is not when government does stuff numb nuts
3
@mark5338 you nailed it. The guy you are responding to is a ignorant and arrogant socialist POS who spreads lies.

Michael Mappin is a lying Marxist shill who spams propaganda for a living. He's so dumb that he thinks that all wealth is produced by labor. He literally blamed capitalism for the Great Leap Forward under communist China. He's been spamming this comments section and practically every other Richard Wolff video comment section for years with outright lies and propaganda, and he does not care about truth. He'll likely be spamming the same lies today in reply to top level comments here within hours. He's also responded to this comment with insults and fabricated quotes I did not say (not any actual argument) and hasn't even attempted to read the sources listed or provide any of his own because he knows he's lying. Plus he admitted that he doesn't care about the data. Here are a list of just some of his other lies: 1. He claimed that production has increased more than incomes. He has been repeatedly shown that this is wrong. (source 1 see "debunking the productivity-pay gap") (source 2 see "Heritage productivity and compensation") (source 3 see Reddit thread on bad economics titled "in EPI we trust") 2. He claimed that wages haven't kept up with inflation. This is in his copy pasted shill paragraph claiming that "capitalism erodes purchasing power" which was shown and explained to him numerous times to be wrong. This too has been cited numerous times and he keeps lying even after being given the source proving him wrong. (source 4 see "Econlib real wage myth") (source 5 see "FRED real compensation") 3. He claimed that people are working more hours over time. That was debunked and he kept claiming it with the source right in front of him. The facts show that people are working fewer hours over time as well. He's still refusing to acknowledge how this benefit has been passed along to workers and claiming that workers don't see any benefits from labor saving technology, which is outright false on its face. (source 6 see Wikipedia article on "working hours" particularly in the US) (source 7 see Our World in Data article on working hours) 4. He claimed that the Nazis weren't socialists. (source 8 see Eric July (Youngrippa59) video on YT for "Nazis were socialists" (source 9 see Mises article on "yes the Nazis were socialists") (source 10 see TIK video on YT for Hiter's socialism) 5. He claimed that Joe Biden was on the right wing. (source 11 see wikipedia article on "political positions of Joe Biden") (source 12 see executive orders from Joe Biden) 6. He claims that workers aren't paid the "full value of their labor." (source 13 see wikipedia article on "exploitation of labor" in the "critique and rejection" section which lists multiple economic references showing how the field rejects the labor theory of value) Now he's also engaged in lying about what others say and post to try to smear them. Instead of actually bringing an argument based on factual information, he just insults and smears. This is what Marxists do. They constantly lie and project because they know that their entire worldview is garbage. This is a grown man that acts like a child. He is not capable of a good faith debate.
3
Nope he is entirely correct. Walmart does not raise prices. Selling below cost is called losing money. It does not work to make people money. You’re just blowing smoke.
3
Correct. He is a lying grifter and he and his cult followers do not deal with facts. It’s all just ideological and rhetorical nonsense.
3
@endlessnameless6628 the only one out of his depth was Wolff spewing bullshit.
3
@endlessnameless6628 nope already did construct the argument why in multiple threads, including how Wolff is just spewing fantasy with his predatory pricing story that has no basis in history.
3
@janeenjohnson8039 no he is not and no they do not.
3
Capitalism has every right to be in those things. Profit is not immoral. Grow up!
3
You do not need government to protect against monopoly. Read the case of Standard Oil. This Marxist notion of capitalism “tending towards monopoly and making everything expensive” is a fairy tale.
3
Exactly. He just makes shit up and hopes no one calls him on it, then gets pissy when they do.
3
@michaelmappin1830 and there is another lie you keep spewing. More successful firms pay more to their workers. They aren’t reducing purchasing power. Quit spewing your lies.
3
Wrong. Inflation is not caused by profits. Inflation is caused by the government printing money like a drunken sailor.
3
You should study economics then. What he says is nothing but falsehoods and sophistry.
3
😂 no he didn’t. Wolff is a lying hack that spewed bullshit at every turn.
3
Nope, Wolff is a communist moron and PBD is a successful businessman that actually understands economics.
3
“Muh exploitation!” Read Bohm Bawerk. And no people being rich does not require others to be poor.
3
@karunakingdom4253 I have. No part of history or unbiased economics supports your nonsense.
3
@arturogonzalez6232 housing supply isn’t being limited by suppliers to keep prices higher, it is limited most by zoning laws. There is a reason why more rural areas don’t have this problem while urban ones have it the worst, and it isn’t because of some cabal in the private sector.
3
Neither Walmart nor Amazon are monopolies and neither have jacked up prices. You are referencing economy wide inflation which is different.
3
@waynetables6414 never said that. I said that they were pushing anti-capitalism. The statement was against private ownership.
3
Well said
3
Every word of that is wrong and idiotic
3
@michaelmappin1830 quit spamming stupid script you genocide denying shill
3
@michaelmappin1830 you are. Do I need to bring the receipts again where you lied and said socialism didn’t cause the Great Leap Forward? https://youtu.be/kocHSOEYsfk
3
@michaelmappin1830 wow you really disappeared really fast on that one. 😂 owned you again!
3
@nimrod06 nope, calling out a pathological liar and presenting the proof is a perfectly fine thing to do when the other person lies and tries to deny it. A video with screenshots is a good way to present proof that can be quickly referenced.
3
@nimrod06 what’s that have to do with anything? If I have time to take screenshots and out liars that could only be a bad thing to you if it threatens your own dishonesty.
3
@nimrod06 you place a low value on truth. I do not. Value is subjective.
3
@nimrod06 that doesn’t make any sense. A comment can contain tons of truthful and helpful facts.
3
@nimrod06 sure, and many do. Hence why the need to fact check and point out which information is good and which is bad. When I was younger and the internet was a newer thing, chain emails with tons of BS were the norm. Now we have tons of content to sort through, but in my estimation the better stuff comes out on top with enough diligence.
3
Both of those industries have competition legally prohibited or severely limited by the government. Yes the end result of not having competition is higher prices, but the government is the one limiting competition in these places. With airlines, deregulation made the industry more affordable and available to the common man (it used to be price controlled). In healthcare we used to have cheaper care via fraternal societies, and government went the opposite direction and placed more and more regulation upon it (including tax incentives for insurance through employers).
3
@brendansullivan4872 it goes really deep especially with healthcare. There are also certificate of need laws, the AMA’s restrictions on the number of licensed doctors each year, IP laws to prevent competition through generics, the FDA keeping out perfectly good alternatives, etc. Many hardcore ideological capitalists have mentioned these things and suggest reform on these issues. Unfortunately most don’t seem interested in addressing the root causes…
3
It’s because he isn’t very well read when it comes to economics and seems to get his talking points from someone else. If he had ever actually studied economics thoroughly then he would not be spewing this predatory pricing myth. Then again he also spews the stagnant wage myth, claimed that competition leads to monopolies, and still peddles the discredited labor theory of value.
3
Nope it got more expensive because government expanded lending.
3
You mean Wolff
3
@kiyan17171717 Wolff is how it is spelled and he is the one with the ego and stupidity
3
😂 no he isn’t. He is a Marxist hack who can’t get basic history or economics right
3
There is no “unregulated capitalism” in today’s world, so that makes no sense. Watch the Kirk Wilcox videos on this. He does one every year detailing how far away we are from that.
3
@mikebunch5553 also false. Not only do the wealthy pay most of the taxes in the US, the US also has a more progressive tax structure than the rest of the world.
3
@michaelmappin1830 😂 more idiotic babble is not an argument. No one cares about your rambling stupidity script.
3
@michaelmappin1830 the Monopoly board game has no resemblance to the real world dumbass. How many times do you have to have this basic fact explained before it sinks in? Do people have to pay rent based on a random dice roll? No they do not. Do they gain income based on random chance? No they do not. See this is why you can’t tell the difference between facts and assertions from made up fantasy land. The person who made up the Monopoly board game was intentionally trying to push a Georgist propaganda narrative.
3
@michaelmappin1830 people are not “paying extra money” under capitalism either. Do you even know how stupid that is?
