@rpena0899 The Young Turks is literally leftist propaganda that gets routinely caught lying. Sam Seder is also a bad faith troll. None of them "stick to the facts." You'd have to be an outright liar or just lazy to not fact check them THAT bad.

@rpena0899 LOL no he's not a great economist. He's a liar and fraud.
2
@prithvib8662 also he lied on his own doctoral dissertation.
2
@ericcastellanos5541 because it's allowed and encouraged.
2
This is false information in the video. First off, that $1 spent requires taxes to fund it, and the cost of those taxes is around $2-3 in economic activity. Second, food insecurity is not "going hungry." Food insecurity is defined by survey questions, not actual hunger. Richard Wolff is a liar and a fraud.
2
Plus it's been more or less debunked. Their idea of a "food desert" is a place where people live that is more than some arbitrarily small distance to a store. Some people have suggested that it's a "food desert" if you're like 2 miles from a store.

Nah, he's a liar. Food insecurity is not the same as hunger.

They aren't going hungry. Food insecurity is not hunger.

Wolff is a Marxist liar and fraud too. He's not taken seriously in his own field, and he lied about his own doctoral dissertation as well as in this video. Food insecurity is not hunger. It's based on survey questions that don't deal with people going without food. Piketty isn't much better. He fabricated his data and lied in his book too. Him and his crew (Saez and Zucman) are notorious for manipulating the numbers to peddle their agenda. I have multiple examples of this.

@Iris-hx6ox wrong. Real compensation (adjusted for inflation) is higher than then, not lower.
1
@Iris-hx6ox I don't think you did. I am saying that wages are higher NOW, not then. The data on real compensation confirms this.

Babies aren't starving in the US.
1
@jimaalex2656 they are not starving. Food insecurity is NOT hunger.
1
@luddity no, they largely don't. Having a full time job as a single person means you aren't in poverty.
1
@cl9826 wages have kept up with productivity. Read the debunking of those original graphs.

@mendonesiac citation needed.

Nah, he's a liar. Food insecurity is not the same as hunger.
1
@25taylorkw all of those are garbage policies that make society worse off, not better.
1
@25taylorkw they are worse off. Social mobility is not the correct measure, and their poverty thresholds aren't even remotely comparable to that of the US. If European countries were US states, they would be among the poorest, and that measure corrects for purchasing power, taxes and government benefits. By contrast, the poor in the US wouldn't be poor in other countries.

@prithvib8662 see the above link.

@thomas45081 nothing he says is a "voice of reason." He's a liar. Food insecurity is not the same as hunger.
1
Yes he is. How are more people not noting this?
