Another correction: the family is not communist. Sharing stuff is not the same as not having any ownership. You don't completely give up ownership of your home when you have a family. You share it.

Correction: Monopolies are NOT a problem of capitalism. Look up any history and you'll see that the problems of monopoly are from the socialism of government, not the market. That big bad "monopoly" of Standard Oil wasn't jacking up prices and never did. It lowered the price of oil and never had all of the market. Hospitals, ISPs, utilities, and cable companies have monopolies because of government. Not the market.

@rams3955 no, monopolies do not occur simply because resources are finite. Otherwise we'd have monopolies everywhere. The picture of SO is more honest than textbooks which are full of lies. You're doing it here. They did NOT "artificially lower prices." That is is a fabrication. They lowered the cost of oil over the course of production naturally. At no point can you prove that they were going to jack up prices. They did not jack up prices despite reaching a peak of 91% market share. Quit your bullshit. Government did not step in until their market share had already declined.
