In order for workers to be underpaid and profit to be theft, there has to be an objective measure of labor’s value. If we grant that labor’s value is subjective then it is whatever is agreed upon in exchange, and by extension the value of capital is also subjective and therefore not theft. Further, if we accept that people are rightful owners of their labor and the stuff which they gain through voluntary exchange then how is it that other people have a claim to means of production that I have obtained in this way?

  13. That is complete and utter nonsense. First off it is empirically false that a free market leads to inequality or poverty. That’s just st a bold faced lie. The data consistently shows that freer markets make people wealthy and more equal than socialist economies. Second, the definition of value has nothing to do with what you think is “fair.” Value is subjective and that is just a statement and of reality. Your feelings on the matter don’t factor into that. Further, you have not established that communism is more fair. And third, you did not answer my questions.

When Richard Wolff went to debate Gene Epstein, the latter pointed out that you can already form cooperatives under capitalism today and asked why more people aren't doing that. When actually pressed on what he would change, Richard Wolff's response was to say that companies should be mandated to give a right of first refusal to workers (selling the company and with government picking up the tab through loans) should the company want to ever sell, offshore or shut down. Meaning that he actually wants to force everyday people to subsidize his business model and pay for the cost if and when those businesses fail and the workers cannot pay back said loan.
