@Jeune Homme on the contrary, there has been no suppression nor discrimination but outright support for this ethnic groups living in the Province of Xinjiang. Well unless if you call building and maintaining 40,000 mosques in the Region of Xinjiang alone is considered suppression of Islam. Unless you consider allowing and encouraging the practise of Islam by the local community in Xinjiang suppression of Islam. If you consider providing lower university entrance requirements for the Uygers a form of discrimination and suppression i guess you are also right. if you also consider providing additional grants and providing training and retraining to enable Uygers to start their own businesses a form of suppression. I suppose you are correct as well. Also unless if you consider the exemption of the Uygers from the 1 child policy imposed on the Han Chinese a form of suppression of the development of the Uygers. Statistics shows that the number of Uyger population has doubled in the last 30 years within Xinjiang, so if that is considered genocide then maybe it is.

@P99-e2x during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the US pointed and activated their neuclear Missiles at 5 Chinese cities whilst threatening Russia to remove their missiles. So in this case should China be pointing missiles at the USA or Australia ?

What happened to the 5 Hong Kongers who were picked up by the Taiwanese Coast Guards? Where are they? How come nobody know’s where they are being held? How come they are not allowed to be given a phone call home to let their families know that they have been detained in Taiwan? Are they still alive ? On Humanitarian Grounds, Taiwan Must disclose the whereabouts of these 5 dissidents.

@siddnneeyy it is also worth noting that the People’s Republic of China has inherited the island of Taiwan as one of it’s territories. This cannot be denied as it is internationally recognised including the United Nations and all the residents of the island of Taiwan.

@siddnneeyy Taiwan was returned to China and there was a civil war which the KMT Government lost and has retreated to the island o Taiwan. Due to foreign intervention by the US and a lack of resources to match, the Communists Government put the ending of the civil war to a different date. That doesn't make Taiwan a different country.

@siddnneeyy Singapore though majority of their population are ethnically Chinese, they are still Malay. The reason is because Singapore belonged to the Riau sultanate before it was ceded to Stamford Raffles. The original local inhabitants are considered the sea people and are of Malay origin.

@jonathancrane969 true if there were genocide these Uyigers would have been running to their neighbouring countries to seek refuge. However these Uyigers cross the borders regularly and freely for shopping and entertainment or a brief holiday.

tea drinker they are not camps, they are like boarding schools because these people live hundreds of kilometres away from the cities or these schools so it is easier for them to stay there than to travel on a daily basis.

@siddnneeyy please note that there has always been a country called China for 5,000 years and it's political power may have changed hands many times it is essentially still called China to the whole world. According to the surrender agreement of the WWII Taiwan and also the Diaoyu islands is supposed to be returned to it's sovereign owner, that is China. Any suggestions of independence is surmount able to cessation and cessation in almost all countries in the world is considered high treason. Most western countries punish such crimes by execution.

@siddnneeyy you clearly have no understanding of logic and only wants to integrate things and events to your liking. The Taiwan was returned to China and the KMT was ruling it when the KMT loose the power it doesn't mean the country becomes a different country. There is no dispute Taiwan is a part of China and everybody in the world recognise it this way. Separatists in Taiwan who do not want to accept those fact can keep it to yourself or go to jail for the rest of your life. Luckily you are interested China if you are in the US you will be put to death for separatist activities.
