@john Galvin I think you are correct. This is not a war about resources. I think really this is a proxy war. The main reason for this war is because of the ailing US economy, and that the USA need to strengthen the Us Dollar. That is why Washington does not allow Zelensky to make a deal with the Russians to end this war. You can see it very clearly that the western powers are still adding fuel to the fire by sending in more and more weapons. Further more the people who are running these support for Ukraine are people who is directly and indirectly linked to companies producing weapons that are being sold to Ukraine. To the Americans Ukrainian lives are dirt cheap, they are totally dispensable, the most important thing is to be able to make Trillions of USD for elite 1% of USA’s citizens.

@MelissaThompson432 Nord Stream 2 is only controversial because it is now cheaper and more cost effective for the USA to produce this shail oil. Due to this reason, the USA need to find a market for thief newly found oil reserves. Who else is better to bully in to buying this oil other than their favourite Europeans ? The other countries that the USA can sell them to is China and India but the USA has bullied China in to not wanting to buy more from them. So Ukraine is also a warning to China to buy more from the USA or else the USA will use Taiwan to provoke them in to a war for Taiwan. That is why the USA sent some senators to Taiwan over the last 2 weeks to boost the morale of the separatist movement in Taiwan.

@asasas9146 simple it takes a longer time for the missiles to reach Russian soil and it gives them time to respond and defend themselves. The missiles that the USA has deployed in Ukraine will be able to reach Russia in less than 4 minutes, this gives them no time to ensure that they are really the target and respond. If Russia is not the target of the missiles launch in Ukraine heading Russia’s direction and Russia respond it will mean a declaration of war towards Ukraine . If Russia did not respond and the missiles are really targeted at Russia then Russia is lost. It’s that simple.

@ronaldfreites1487 the Solomon Islands is a totally different story all together. You see the Australian government has recently instigated and supported a separatist movement in the Solomon Islands to run riot and killed many people there. This group was also supported and financed by the Taiwanese just after the Solomon Islands switched diplomatic recognition towards Beijing. The reason is that these separatist movement wants to have continued diplomatic recognition of Taipei rather than Beijing, this does not make sense as the trade and other people to people exchange between the Solomon Islands has already made their trade and people to people exchange with Taiwan negligible. The pact between the Solomon Islands is only if there is more trouble in the Solomon Islands and the local government is not able to handle these trouble, the Solo,on Islands Government has an option to request for Beijing to send their police to help maintain public order. It is not military but merely defence against foreign intervention namely from Australia and the USA.

Actually what Ronald Frietes said is correct. What Russia did is in accordance to the United Nations charter on self defence. The only party that has broken international law is the USA and NATO by sending their military commanders and their weapons and also a barrage of mercenaries.

@16vjtdalfa I think your information is a little out of date. Since it became viable to extract sheil oil and gas, the USA is already one of the largest oil producing countries in the world. That was why the USA has been adamant that Germany stop the Nord Stream 2, this war effectively killed the Nord Stream 2 and now Germans will have to buy gas from the USA at a much higher price. The whole of Europe is now buying oil and gas at a much higher price because the USA buys the oil from Russia and then resell them to Europe at a higher price. China will never invade Taiwan because Taiwan is a province of China it’s just that simple. Say what you will but the matter of fact is that Taiwan is a province of China. Nothing the dictatorship based in Washington can do will make Taiwan a separate country.
