@sleepokay Yes, names do change over time but the Republic of China is still being used and has not yet changed. Looking forward for it to be changed to People’s Republic of China then there will be peace.

@JackC-e6i Correction, the People’s Republic of China has superseded the Republic of China. All citizens of the Republic of China are automatically citizens of the People’s Republic of China and vice-Verssa.

@mmfong297 Do you know that there are more different political parties in the Mainland than there are in Taiwan ? Do you also know that the leaders on the Mainland are all elected via an election process ? Please go do some research and find out more.
1
@JackC-e6i I think you need to go visit the cities and countrysides in Mainland China then you will know that if Taiwan were officially unifies with the Mainland then the quality of life and the lifestyle of the Taiwanese people will be much better. I have just visited both Taipei and Guangzhou over the last few months and I can see the big difference it is so much better on the other side.
1
@JackC-e6i The aboriginal people on Taiwan migrated to the island from South West China so they are also considered Mainlanders as well. Please go learn your history and stop showing your ignorance.
1
@JackC-e6i Please open your map of Korea, is not South Korea a part of the same Peninsular attached to the mainland ? If so does it not make them a part of the mainland ? You are blinded by your hate and no longer see logic I pity you.
1
@JackC-e6i LOL you are so blind, so blind beyond help. Don't bother going to the mainland to have a look and see how good life there is. Taiwanese have no freedom. Taiwanese have no democracy. Taiwanese are not happy with their lives there. Why ? 1. The Taiwanese income is so low they cannot afford housing. The income in Chinese cities are higher than that in Taiwan at the same time the cost of living is lower than in Taiwan. 2. Cost of housing is a lot more affordable on the mainland whilst it is too far out of reach by Taiwanese youths. 3. Taiwanese media do not show facts and do not show the truth it is controlled by US foreign agents pushing US agenda. Whilst media in China though has censorship but it is not as controlled as in Taiwan. 4. The politics in Taiwan is controlled by the CIA and its subsidiaries and nobody can go in to politics without CIA approval. On the mainland you need to qualify by being the top student in your University then you can start by serving the people at the lowest level and if they like you, you will then be eligible for elections. 5. If you go to the markets and the supermarkets in the mainland you have a wide variety to choose from at affordable prices whilst the choices of food in Taiwan is very limited and is not really that affordable compared to the mainland. 6. You have no ability to speak up about the true history of Taiwan and her people or you will be put in jail. You can only agree with the CIA controlled narrative. What kind of freedom is this ?
1
@JackC-e6i @JackC-e6i Very simple is there any country in this world that recognises Taiwan as a country ? None. You have been very brainwashed beyond repair.
1
@DarrenTAFer The Hongkies who has moved to UK are being persecuted and face intense racial discrimination. They are being bled dry of their money as this was one of the plans for them to come to the UK and help revive our economy.
1
@RodrigoPalma700 Prove me wrong and show me the facts not propaganda.
1
@DarrenTAFer Yeah keep making stuff up ok. I only show facts.
1
@RodringoPalma700 if you say that I am a liar prove it that I am a liar don't just accuse me with empty words. Otherwise you are not worth your grain in salt.
1
@JackC-e6i So you cannot give any evidence that I am a liar as I have shown facts but you insists that I am either a liar or delusional. Such pitiful bot you are.
1
The PRC is the legal owner of Taiwan and this is recognised by the United Nations and all the countries around the world. There is no dispute on this fact.
1
@JackC-e6i Taiwanese don’t care what is going on in the Mainland is true but that is because they have been brainwashed from young that China is poor, bad, dangerous, dirty and backward with no freedom and no religion. However all these are nothing but lies.
1
@Martytw1 Taiwan belong to China regardless of Republic of China or People’s Republic of China. However 99.5% of the world population recognises the Government of The People’s Republic China as the legitimate Government of the whole of China.
1
@vietnguyen4312 Please refer to the surrender documents signed by the Japanese and the Allies for WWII, Please also refer to the Postdam Declaration and the Cairo Declaration about Taiwan. Then you will know that Taiwan was returned back to China at that time known as the Republic of China, subsequently Republic of China was superseded by the People’s Republic of China.
1
@vietnguyen4312 Please refer to the United Nations Resolution 2758 that states Inter Alia that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China represented by the People’s Republic of China.
1
@DarrenTAFer PRC is currently ruling Taiwan as Taiwan is a part of the PRC. It just happen to have a different Government on the island what's the big deal it's the same country. Look at your country the BJP doesn't rule in all the States in India some of the states are ruled by different parties does that make these states different countries ?
1
@DarrenTAFer Taiwan is a part of the People's Republic of China under the One Country Two System, it has effectively reunified with the mainland already. Just not officially yet.
1
@JackC-e6i very simple because Japan is not part of China. Legally Japan is not part of China. Whereas legally and Constitutionally Taiwan is a part of China and this is what the whole world see and recognise. That is why and how Taiwan is a a part of China.
1
@JackC-e6i Taiwan is effectively ruled by the PRC because under the One Country Two System Taiwan will get to choose their own Government, they will get to make their own laws and administer themselves but they are still a part of China. The only thing that has yet to happen is that : 1. The Taiwanese army will have to report to the PLA. 2. The Taiwanese Provincial Leader will have to report his or her Work Report to the Assembly of the People annually. Once these two things are done then they just need to announce that Taiwan has officially been reunified with the rest of the country. Nothing needs to change. I'm sure that with that the lives of the people of Taiwan will be much much better and they do not have to suffer so much under US Rule.
1
@JackC-e6i Yes, if you are saying someone is walking around and claiming random strangers to be their spouse is very sad. However Legal documents around the world and within China regardless of Republic of China or People's Republic of China also states that Taiwan is a part of China. No country nor international organisations around the world dispute this fact.
1
@JackC-e6i Taiwan is effectively ruled by the PRC just like how Hong Kong or Macau is. All decisions are made locally by their own legislative body. Unfortunately this legislative body in Taiwan has submitted to the control of the CIA and all the media in Taiwan is also controlled by the CIA that's the independence we are hoping Taiwanese people will push for. So you are trying to be Mehdi Hasan by learning to twist and put words in my mouth ? NOT SO EASY
1
@vietnguyen4312 UN Resolution 2758 recognises that there is only 1 China and that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. Postdam Declaration states that the Island of Taiwan and its surrounding islands under the purview of Taiwan will be returned to China. Cairo Declaration states that Taiwan will be returned to China. These are the basic 3 International Treaties that states Taiwan is a part of China. Now it is your turn to show your lies are not just lies.
1
What benefits does Taiwanese have for being an independent country as compared to being part of China as what the whole world see and recognise ? I see that Taiwan being an independent country only have negative effects and is totally against the interest of the Taiwanese people. If anyone can see positive effects of Taiwan being independent please share.
1
@johnramirz1564 Well the last time I checked Taiwan is still a part of China. It's what they said in their Constitution. All countries around the world also recognise Taiwan to be a part of China including countries like USA, UK, France, India and so on. If you say that Taiwan is an independent nation please show evidence.
1
@DarrenTAFer There seem to be problems with your statement. Here are the problems: 1. The people on Mainland China has the right to determine and dictate decisions made for them and it is a lot more transparent as compared to what is happening in Taiwan. What makes you think that Taiwan will no longer be able to make such decisions after reunification ? 2. Every level of officials, administrators and Ministers in Mainland China is elected by the people. What makes you think that this will be destroyed when Taiwan is reunified with the mainland ? 3. Do you have any evidence that the mainland does not follow the rule of law. Do share your evidence as from what I see they do follow the rules of law however like any country around the world there will always be a few bad apples. Do share if you have any evidence that China do not follow the rile of law.
1
I think you have no knowledge of what is happening in the mainland China. Take an example of the people in Inner Mongolia the part of China and compare it with the Country of Mongolia. Both still speak and practice Mongolian culture. However the only difference between them is that in China, the Mongolians still use the traditional Mongolian writing to learn Mongolian, whilst the Mongolians in Mongolia uses the Cyrillic script to learn and write Mongolian. Tibetans also use their own Tibetan script and Tibetan is a compulsory subject in schools in Tibet. In Xinjiang, it is compulsory for all students to learn how to read and write in Uyghurs language using the Arabic Script. Look at the Renmenbi note, they write all these languages on their money.
1
@JackC-e6i It is not as censored as what is happening in the west. You can go there and see what is happening freely there is no restriction. Just go and have a look, you most probably can go there Visa Free too.
1
@JackC-e6i You know you are trying to be like Mehdi Hasan right ? You are sounding more like him, the only difference is you have no facts whilst Mehdi twist facts.
