Taiwan is a bottomless ATM for the USA that’s why. The USA can sell old, outdated or watered down weapons to Taiwan at an inflated price. Most importantly Taiwan will NEVER say no to the USA.

I don't think China has any ambition to become a global military power, however it seems that situation is pushing China towards it though reluctantly. I think that China's ambition is really only trade with the world and influence the world through mutual exchanges in culture and trade not militarily.

Most of the world are enslaved by US foreign policies and the US Dollar hegemony. The more we produce, the less we get back in return, this is because w3 can only sell in US Dollars and the value of the US dollar keep falling because of American foreign policies.

@desmond89 I think this is not the case because the system that is being practiced in China now is the exact system they have been using for thousands of years. The only difference is that last time they are able to have a successor to be chosen from the lineage of the head of state whom they used to call the emperor, this emperor will rule until his death. Now the head of state is only allowed to rule for a 4 year term and is called a President and not an emperor. In ancient times, the Government Officials and politicians were voted from those who qualified themselves with the Government exams. Now the Government Officials and politicians are voted from those who has graduated top of their class in their respective universities. They also added one more criteria to qualify these officials to stand for election and that is that they must be full time in community service too. If they are outstanding will they be allowed to run for elections.

Good idea but the only problem is that there are these stupid people who just do not believe you and they only take in to account the latest amendment of the Constitution of the Republic of China where they say that for election purposes, they will only consider the parts that the Government on Taiwan is able to administer over. So they will then totally ignore the parts that the Government Claim to be the REpublic of China.

Chiang Kai Shek was actually forced by a conspiracy of his sister in-law and other Chinese Communist Party members to enter the war to fight the Japanese in Asia and the Germans in Europe. Chiang's son Chiang Wei-kuo was fighting for the Germans and he was a Sergeant fighting against the Chinese in the Allies.
