If Visa and MasterCard is sincere in their sanctions they should also stop allowing the Russian Cards to be used too. The reason is because Visa and MasterCard still earn the same amount for any transaction done in Russia too. Visa and MasterCard only loose a very small portion of their business in Russia as the proportion of foreign cards used in any country is still very small. These are the Visa and MasterCard figures from around the world.

@jmi5969 trying to understand what you are trying to say. The thing is as long as it is a visa or a Mastercard transaction, even though if it is within Russia itself, it will still go through the Visa or MasterCard network. The fact that a transaction goes through the Visa or MasterCard network, Visa and MasterCard will earn a small portion of the transaction. This is a standard agreement with all banks that Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express, Discover and JCB has around the world.

@jmi5969 I think you don’t understand the structure of how card transactions are being processed. I am referring to not on us cards issued within Russia and transacted within Russia. These transactions will still go through the Visa and MasterCard Network therefore Visa and MasterCard will have these information and will also take a transaction fee for handling these transaction.
