Hong Kong didn’t like the extradition bill because the media portrayed a false view and false content of the extradition bill to the people and it was all maliciously presented to say a lot of things may happen even if it is clearly stated in the bill that there are fool proofed procedure to prevent abuse of the law. The Legal society who did not read the content of the bill also came out to protest stating things that are false about the bill. These lawyers also did not explain to the public about the robustness of the systems that has been put in place to prevent abuse of the law and the protection of the Hong Kong citizens. What the lawyers of the Law Society did was to come out and stoke fear in the people to fight against the bill with total disregard for the robust systems in place. These lawyers keep highlighting that there will be a possibility that there will be abuse of the law. The Law society also totally disregarded the requirement of Hong Kong to have this extradition act to fulfill a requirement for Hong Kong to participate in Interpol activities for international crime fighting.

The National Security Law is a requirement in the Basic Law of Hong Kong, just that it took more than 23 years for the LegCo to get it done but still failed due to the protests of the opposition law makers, even though they know that this will be against the Basic Law and the One Country Two System.
