Which country in this world do not have any border disputes ?
1
@yayhandles Yes you are correct. I don’t think there are many countries who shares a border with another country as much as China does regardless you are referring to the Republic of China or the People’s Republic of China. The only thing is nobody talks to the Republic of China as none of the countries bordering the Republic of China recognise it as a country.

@tylerbeasley5619 I think the so called threats from China are actually from the USA. China has NEVER threatened Taiwan before. You see so far it has always been that the US Senators, US Officials and US lead media that keep saying that China is going to invade Taiwan. However China NEVER said that they will ever invade Taiwan. China always say that they look forward to a peaceful reunification of Taiwan but if the separatist movements wants to seek Taiwan Independence they will not hesitate to reunite Taiwan by force. That is a world of difference from China Invading Taiwan. Besides there is no way that China can invade Taiwan because all the countries in this world and all the international organisations in the world recognises that Taiwan is a part of China. The whole world also recognise that the legitimate Government for all of China including the island of Taiwan is in Beijing. Only 13 small Pacific Island nations recognises that the legitimate Government of China is in Taipei.

@tylerbeasley5619 Actually there has been no evidence of China threatening Taiwan. Firstly it is not possible for China to threaten Taiwan as Taiwan is a part of China. Secondly, even if you view Taiwan as a separate country, China has not done nor said anything that threatens Taiwan. It is only the USA and the US Military and the CIA that has said that China has threatened to invade Taiwan. Whilst China NEVER said such a thing. China merely says that she seeks peaceful reunification with Taiwan. If Taiwan separatists were to declare independence especially with the aid of foreign forces, The PLA would not rule out the use of force to defend China’s territorial integrity. Is that a threat ? If so please explain how a country vowing to defend their own territory is a threat to it’s own territory.

@tooltalk @jennychuang808 I am not sure if you are aware of this or not but the USA has declared that if the PLA were to move in to Taiwanese territory, the US Military will move in to destroy all of TSMC’s factories and foundries and the infrastructure on the island of Taiwan so as to make sure that China does not get her hands on these. So much for American promise to defend Taiwan.
1
@jennychuang808 By the way Taiwan is a part of China so TSMC is a Chinese company is also correct.
1
@jennychuang808 Show me any evidence of Taiwan being an independent country or show me a country or international organisation that recognises Taiwan as an independent country first. Then only you have basis to your claim.
1
@jennychuang808 Yes, agreed that TSMC means this company is from Taiwan. However Taiwan still remains a part of China. There is no evidence that I have seen that states Taiwan is an independent country.

@derunfassbarebielecki Taiwan is only a name of an island not a country.

@yayhandles I think you need to study history in more detail. The truth is that Hawaii was forcibly annexed by the USA to be part of the USA and they were not given a vote to be a part of the USA. It was only much later that the Hawaiians were allowed to vote. Please check history first.

Let's evaluate this question objectively and see whether Taiwan is a country or not. 1. All countries in this world recognises that there is only one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. Therefore making Taiwan to be not a country. 2. All countries in the world recognises the legitimate Government of all of China to sit in Beijing. Only 13 pacific nations recognise that the legitimate Government of all of China to sit in Taipei (Taiwan). Therefore Taiwan is not a country. 3. All international organisations in the world recognises that Taiwan is a part of China. There is no international organisations that recognises Taiwan as a country. Therefore Taiwan is not a country. 4. Taiwan has its own Government. Does this make Taiwan a sovereign country ? Let's examine this in context of other territories. Greenland has its own Prime Minister but Greenland is a part of Denmark. Northern Ireland has its own Government but Northern Ireland is a part of the UK. Scotland has its own Government too and Scotland is a part of the UK. All 50 states in the USA have their own Government and own set of laws and tax laws too, but they all belong to the same country of the USA. Sabah is a country but it does not have their own Government but Sabah is a part of Malaysia. Singapore used to have their own Prime Minister but Singapore used to be a part of a country called Malaysia. So base on these examples Taiwan is not an independent country. 5. Taiwan have their own set of currencies does that make Taiwan an independent country ? Scotland has their own currency too, does that Make Scotland an independent country ? NO. Hong Kong has their own currency too does that make Hong Kong a separate country ? NO In fact Hong Kong has 3 sets of currencies 1 issued by HSBC, 1 set issued by Standard Chartered Bank and 1 more issued by the Bank of China. So based on this fact, no Taiwan is not an independent country. 6. Taiwan has their own passport, does that make Taiwan an independent country ? If you look at the so called Taiwanese Passport it actually says Taiwan, China. So it is a Chinese passport for a person from the territory of Taiwan. So therefore this argument holds no water. Does this make Taiwan an independent country ? NO 7. What does Taiwanese gain from being an independent country ? An opportunity to determine their own future and make their own laws. OK agreed. However the question remains what is the difference when Taiwan is a part of China? Taiwan will still be able to make their own laws and determine their own future. This is guaranteed under the One Country Two System promised by the mainland. 8. What does Taiwan loose for being an independent country? 60% of the total Taiwanese economy will be destroyed if Taiwan becomes independent. The reason is because 60% of Taiwan's trade is with the mainland. This is only what we can see what about the tourists from the mainland and other Chinese territories ? There will be a huge loss of tourist dollar income from China's mainland, Hong Kong and Macao as citizens of these countries will not have a passport that would be valid to travel to a country called Taiwan. So the question is are Taiwanese willing to size down their economy by say 80% just to be so called independent ? I seriously do not think so. Think about this Taiwanese people.

@jennychuang808 can you define the territorial boundaries of the Republic of China (Taiwan) ? Give me the full description of it.
1
@derunfassbarebielecki according to the Cambridge dictionary trivial adjective US /ˈtrɪv·i·əl/ Add to word list having little value or importance: The story spends too much time on trivial matters. So sorry it has no relevance to your description.
1
@yayhandles maybe you should go check out how the USA created a coup de tat & dethroned the Queen of Hawaii and then illegally annexed Hawaii. Then much later did it become a so called state of the USA. Go check out real history first.
1
@jennychuang808 hello I said give me the territorial definition of the Republic of China not of the Province of Taiwan. Please recheck and come back to me.
1
@jennychuang808 like you said Taiwanese are said to be.. where is the evidence ?
1
@jennychuang808 Yes, the Chinese Government made mistakes. So ? The most important thing is that they have owned up to this mistake and correct their mistakes. What is wrong with that ?
1
@jennychuang808 why should I be ashamed of an evil regime that has done so many good things for the people that you can only imagine?
1
@jennychuang808 so are you going to give me the territories claimed by the Republic of China ? Say territories that is known as the Shenkaku Islands ... Mongolia... Tibet Ladakh... Spratly Islands Aksai Chin Vladivostok and the 11 dashed lines on the South China Sea ?
1
@jennychuang808 I know that you support Taiwan's independence from China. My question is what does Taiwan gain from independence ? And What would Taiwan loose from independence ? Look at me in the eye and tell me objectively, which is better for the people of Taiwan?
1
@jennychuang808 Shame on you for supporting the total destruction of Taiwan, Taiwan's economy, Taiwan's infrastructure and allowing Taiwan and the Taiwanese people to be used as a pawn by the USA and the Western Bloc for the benefit of the USA. Shame on you for the betrayal of your culture, your ancestors and all the people of your ethnic group around the world. However I guess you are just too brainwashed to know that because you think that being Taiwanese is not ethnically Chinese. Shame on you for betraying your relatives located on the mainland of the country by disassociating with them. Shame on your for not acknowledging you relations that you are still family with them. Shame on you for you do not deserve any basic human decency for all these betrayal you are supporting.
