  1. General Bakshi you should understand that The whole world recognises only one China. Currently India recognises the Government in Beijing to be the sole Government for all of China and this will also include that of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and the 9 dashed lines on the South China Sea. At the same time, the Government in Taipei too is also claiming to be the legitimate Government for the Whole of China including that of Hong Kong, Macao, the whole of Mongolia both inner and Outer Mongolia, all the disputed territories with India together with Nepal and the 11 dashed lines of the South China Seas. This Government has no recognition with the whole world except 12 small island nations plus the Vatican City. So if India were to support Taiwan it would mean the India will switch her recognition to the Taipei Government and it will be strategically naive for India.

  3. The best position for India to take is to be friend with both China, Russia and the USA at the same time. India should also sit and talk to the Chinese to settle the border disputes once and for all as several Chinese Presidents including Xi has approached the sitting Indian Prime Ministers but all Indian Prime ministers has so far refused to settle the border disputes.
