@bicyclist2 I once stubbed my toe hard on the side of the table. But like, REALLY HARD. So hard in fact that the doctor told me it had to be amputated. So that night I asked my family to pray with me and now I still have half of my toe left. Praise tha lawrd.

"having graduated extremely liberal, I quickly realized that some of these ideals failed in practical terms once applied in the real world." Do you have any examples of those?
6
@contrarian0885 "Do you have any examples of those?" I was asking for liberal ideals that do not translate for helping in "facing the real world". Recycling is not really an ideal, it is a policy.

@TK-jump I don't remember asking you anything, scrub.

Who is saying that there is no difference between male and female? You could at least get the opposition's position right.
3
K. So what was the matter with your uncle's arm? Like why did it need to be amputated and what was different after the prayer? Did the doctors really say it needed to be amputated? Because I am highly sceptical of that.

Yeah, except that Dawkins never said (I think), "I know that those things are not real." He probably does not believe in them. If JP actually provided evidence for anything that he was saying, then Dawkins (and myself) might actually be convinced.
1
That is not what I heard. What I heard him ask is if a person called Harry Potter actually existed and went to a magic school that also existed in the real physical world where you and I regularly go to the bathroom. And JP was like. Well, I'm not interested in that, Harry Potter is real in some way. Yeah, we know, it's not that deep.

Remember when Christians said that they are not condescending and don't act all high and mighty? Yeah, me neither.

@Nick-ky5yn Well, this is how I interpreted your comment. Let me know if it correlates with your actual views. Hi, my name is Nick and I love my relationship with Christ because I do not feel empty. Unlike that man who is just so sad and empty, probably because he is an atheïst. Because that is just what atheïsts are. Cold and cynical. Not like me, who has found Jesus. Or could you maybe consider that is just the kind of man he is? Or maybe, it gets really tedious talking to a man who regularly goes off into 10-minute rants about a subject that Dawkins (at the very least) finds uninteresting.
1
@Nick-ky5yn " Noticing the shallowness of his thoughts and feeling genuine sadness?" Not really. Could you give me an example? (if you don't want to then that is also fine)
1
@Nick-ky5yn "I can see how you read it that way, but that is not how it was meant. I’m stating two things." Okay so yeah, don't do that, please. According to you the first half and the second half of your comment were unrelated. But nobody who reads your comment has any indication of this, so it feels like they are related. Obviously, this is going to lead to misunderstandings. Like you do this here too. "That to me is emptiness. It’s a man void of any purposeful thought that doesn’t fit in his realm of “reality and facts” and I feel genuine sadness for him..." Okay, that is fine. You don't need any more reasoning. But then you say this: "or anyone who doesn’t find beauty in Christ. Because I know how much Christ loves you." Why? What does JC have to do with anything? Does that not validate this interpretation of your comment: "Hi, my name is Nick and I love my relationship with Christ because I do not feel empty. Unlike that man who is just so sad and empty, probably because he is an atheïst. Because that is just what atheïsts are. Cold and cynical. Not like me, who has found Jesus." I will look into the dragon thing later.

@brkbtjunkie Yeah, I have no context for this whatsoever so I can't be 100% sure but I am just going to assume that that guy released some opinion piece that probably said that there are differences between men and women. However, the reason that he was probably fired was because that opinion piece also contained a bunch of unfounded sexist implications and opinions that he, as a Google employee, released to the public thus harming the brand.
1
@cleverestx Just sending a reminder that you have proven incapable of defending your beliefs. Care to acknowledge what I said?

@brkbtjunkie Sexist says what?👂
1
@brkbtjunkie What was that, nothing to say? 👂
1
@Zoe-c9z Wha? How does that have anything to do with the comments I have made. Go proselytise somewhere else.

For which Peterson, of course, provides 0 evidence. All assumptions, no backbone.
