As an American service veteran (and taxpayer), I believe that foreign military personnel should NOT be receiving military training (funded by American taxpayers) in the U.S. Let these so-called "allied" countries train their own military people in classrooms over in their own homeland. After all, if one day these foreign military personnel become our enemies (not impossible to fathom), do we really want them to have the same knowledge of our tactics and training that is on par with our own service men and women?
This story is an unfortunate incident; we have our own nut-job shooters over here. And while it is true that America has worthwhile allies, nevertheless, we really can't trust these foreign military personnel on our soil. The notion of them as our Allies today could well end up becoming our enemies of tomorrow.
And having losers like Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani in our country is a prime example; you can never know their true motivations to be here.
If the American government has all this money to give away expensive military equipment and provide training to FOREIGN military personnel (on a regular basis) to support the geo-political ambitions of politicians in Washington, well then these politicians can stop crying about raising taxes for AMERICAN taxpayers here in America! To Washington politicians: start putting Americans first by using tax dollars and other so-called "surplus" revenue to use for raising the living standard and easing the burdens of our impoverished citizens. Forget about supplying high-tech military hardware and training to support foreigners. Do their citizens pay tax dollars to America? Can they vote for you Washington fat-cats at election time? Didn't think so. It is almost like having people pay for car insurance, but if there are some out there who can’t pay, well they can have full coverage for free!
At the very least, if they want the training and equipment, let them PAY top dollar out the nose for it, and these foreign governments can sponsor the training for American military instructors!
