  1. Heck, a platoon of Hitler Youth soldiers from WW2 with MG-42's, mp-40's, stick grenades, and K98 Mauser's could do that much damage to a Roman Legion. USMC could wipe out a Roman Legion with far less than a platoon in this scenario.

  2.  @vincepurpura8905  Superstations were quite a thing on the minds of the ancient Romans. Exposure to something throwing lead at them at a rate of 1,200 rounds a minute, along with the resulting casualties most likely would have sent what is left of the legion into a panic-fueled route. Never mind that other members firing guns and throwing hand grenades at them.

  3. If it were possible for Andrew Jackson to have been president on the eve of WW2, the British would certainly have not been helped any. Likely, "Old Hickory" would have sided with the axis (if not stayed neutral). England definitely had a friend in FDR.
