Heck, a platoon of Hitler Youth soldiers from WW2 with MG-42's, mp-40's, stick grenades, and K98 Mauser's could do that much damage to a Roman Legion. USMC could wipe out a Roman Legion with far less than a platoon in this scenario.

@vincepurpura8905 Superstations were quite a thing on the minds of the ancient Romans. Exposure to something throwing lead at them at a rate of 1,200 rounds a minute, along with the resulting casualties most likely would have sent what is left of the legion into a panic-fueled route. Never mind that other members firing guns and throwing hand grenades at them.
