It wouldn't take long for the massive air strikes on Germany to take a toll that would see the decline of Axis in regards to the strategic initiative. And why should he have? It is not like the Japanese helped Hitler with Russia by invading from the east in the summer of 1941, so why bring upon Germany the military and industrial manufacturing capability of the U.S.? Had the Japs attacked from the east, it would have been Russia facing a two front war.
